It ended up what he needed was a rotor button, so we headed back to my place, had a quick look, grabbed a couple, and took off. He was quite grateful of course, offering us $50 as he asked "How much do I owe ya boys?". Seeing a Karmann Ghia in these parts is quite uncommon, and possibly the first one I've seen for a long time in the area.
