Hey Rob,
I've just done one, and the gear is spray putty. First file the cracks into a "V" and simply fill with body filler (bog), sand it smooth, then get a can of spray putty from Autobarn, $12, build it up with several coats, 15 mins between coats until you've got a smooth even surface all over.
Wet sand it till smooth.
Light undercoat, then light sand till smooth, and then colour and clear over the top. You won't believe it. Thanks Sasha at Delux restos!!

I tried to get the epoxy putty from the people who make POR15 as I have used their paint and know it to be good stuff.
Problem is the importer wont bring the putty in, so only way to get it is from the states.

Cheers
