A newbie to this aussieveedubbers and was just wondering if there were any good sites for getting the specs of the 1960's to 70's beetles. I have been given a beetle and my goal is to go beetle to buggy inside a year. Current owner can only tell me its a 60's model and i am trying to get an idea of the amount of work that i have gotten myself into.

Cheers.:sandrine:bounce

You've got yourself in for allot of work.

Best way to get info on Buggies and Bajas (especially in QLD) is to join the Manx club.

www.manxclub.org

If you want to know more about you particular floorpan post the first 4-5 digits of the chassis number here and I will tell you what year your car is and what suspension set-up etc it will be running.

Work well already made a rough as buggy from scratch ... maybe you could call it a motorised billycart i dunno its not really a buggy as such.
(made this when i was like 12 - mechanic as a father unckle as a boily... bad combination)

I'm not 1 for unneccary abuse either. got out there to pick it up some one had firstly flogged the tyers 🙁 (but left the rims thank christ, and busted the bonnet. tried to bunch out the pins but was rusted in so well had to bend it .. not happy. Reasonable glasses tho and i wond b wanting any of then soo... their all up for $$ all glases are good except 4 possiblythe actual door windows (winders are jammed down.

must be the F0693480 = 1300 cc = 1966 engine because all the badges are claiming a 1300cc motor.

toying with the idea of a turbo ... off road & unregestered so power - weignt ratios arnt critical. Are the bottom ends heavy enough to take the extra power?

cheers
:cry:cry🙁
