Thought I would do the good father thing today and give my 18yo son a bit of a driving lesson.
The 65 Beetle project car in the shed still runs. So I thought a bit of clutch practise up and down the drive woay would be fine.

Alls going well for about the first 10 trips, back up the drive on to the road and then change into first and drive back down the drive to the front of the shed. Shweet.

Until "bang" he back the thing straight into the side of the house. The bumper hooks onto the gate and we are stuck there. Cant move forward or back. So after levering the bumper away from the gate and driving slowly forward we are free.
I have one mangled rear guard to add to the list of to do's on this 65 sunroof.

To be honest I was having a real good laugh about it, cause to look on my boys face was priceless. 😀

If thats the worst accident he ever has then I am kewl with that.

Whack a couple of tyres to the front an rear as airbags. Just like the ferry's do! That'll dent his pride just as bad as the house and the bug!!!

Could have been worse. Great to see you can still have a laugh about it. Hope it doesn't discourage him from driving a Dub.
