do you 6v beetle guys with 6v beetles, use a reducer on the window wiper motor when converted to 12v?
guy at works wipers dont turn off when hey turns the knob.. untill he grabs the blades..
is it the same as on semaphores?
if u do use a reducer where u get it from?? he tried tandy..

THis should be in tech section.....But he can use a wiper motor from a 12v car.
N!
needed a quick reply.. work early tomorrow morning... thought here would get most hits.. Sorry.. :/
isnt the 12v motor more bulky? ie wont fit? i already suggested it to him lol

Or just disconnect the auto park wire. You will have to park them manually using the wiper switch.
sorry grey i dont quite follow you..🙁

You can use a ballast resistor from a coil. Repco or Autobarn will have them. It cuts the 12v down to about 9v. The wipers will still go fast , but not crazy fast. Probably park ok when the screen is dry , but still wont park if its wet
There will be 3 wires to the wiper motor. One has power to it all the time. This is the power source for the self parking feature.
The other wire is on off from the wiper switch.
If you pull the self parking wire off the wiper motor will not self park, but stop were ever it may be when the wiper switch is turned off.
The self parker works on a cam and points arrangement. If the wiper motor is going too fast, when the wiper switch is turned off, it runs past the autopark turn off place and then goes for another wipe. This repeats itself until your mates grabs the wiper arm and forces it to stop.
Phew
i getcha now.. can u use multiple resistors?.. ie a 12to 9, then a 9 to 6 or somthing?
Tagedeezee Heezy
Dunno about that , I never tried it. cant see why it wouldnt work. Connect them in series i spose.
On my old Oval i just got used to parking them manually.
by that u mean grabbing the blades when u turn off the car?
Tagedeezee Heezy
Nah just disconnected the self parking wire and parked them with the on/off switch.
The self parking wire should be coming from the wiper switch. But will be on the power in side of the switch. The "run normal " wire would be on the power out side of the wiper switch.
Or just pull off wires at the wiper motor , with the switch turned off, and wipers wiping, until it stops. That should be the self parker wire. Tape it up and leave it off.
yes you can fit 2 resistors in series slows the wippers down to 6 volt speed vwking klub vw casino
the previous owner of my beetle used a interior dimmer switch from a bombadore. wierd but works. will fix it later though...

Simply Cruzin'...
you should be able to use a resistor to step it down to 6 volt supply to the motor
see.... air and water do mix 😉

There is a replacement armature available from Wolfsburg West (in the USA) for about 25 US that solve this problem. According to the ad in Hot VWs it takes about 5 minutes to fit.
Use 2 ballast resistors in series for your wiper mtr. That should slow it down & make them park.
