My other car is a scooter, and it's in even more bits than my beetle. One day they will both be back together.......

it not that hard if you have 2 people. my old man and i can get one out in about 1/2 to 3/4 hour. the only tools you will need are a jack, spanners and help.the motor is only held in by 4 bolts, 2 of which are behind the fan housing.

Trolley jack makes the job pretty easy.

Once the car is jacked up and on stands, take the rear wheels off.

Take the engine lid off.

You can do it on your own, but much easier with 2 people.

make sure you have manual to follow and just go slow and steady. remove the exhaust sometimes to make it easier, then all leads and hoses, then undo bottom bolts, then top bolts, sliude it back then down. also a largeish trolley jack can make it easier to get the car higher to slide the engine out.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
