I bought one of my kids a digital camera for christmas. A Dick Smith Concord Duo LCD - also got my old man one.
He is running Windows 2000 on a 1.4M Hz Pentium and all is well. I can load the soft ware and when i plug the camera in to the USB port that the keyboard is connected to it detected the camera and drivers were loaded. I could then access the pictures in the camera and down load them.
I am running only a 200 Pentium with Windows 98SE. I can load the camera software. The keyboard is a "normal" din? plug - and i have 2 USB ports.
I cant get the computer to install new hardware. When i go onto control panel and force new hardware to install a new device (digital camera) i can find a driver ( i think - there are 2 concord etc etc .inf files) but when it loads it only gives me an option for LPT1 port or com1 port - not USB.
Am i doing something wrong or is my computer too old.
All help welcome - all my work computer gurus aare away till the 13th and my kid wants to load his pictures and this is making me feel like a real old fart! :jesus
