Yep, I reckon it's one of those round ones too. And from memory, although I have been wrong before, you can mount rubber tyres on these that you fill with air and they make your car handle a lot nicer than those horrible wooden spoked, steel tyred versions.

Is it a 16 inch or 15 ??

If 15 it will be a change over VW wheels from 67 / 68 when they went 5 stud to 4 stud... or it could be an early 356 wheel

Have a look for logos around the wheel bolt area.
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

yes the person who said ford prefect wins the prize(early anglia and popular also) . it will make a nice hose reel.

ps. 48/215 (fx) and fj holdens had wide 5 stud like wheel that wont fit a vw also

pps very early beetles ,buses,kubels and tempo matadors did have 16 inch wide 5 vw wheels (what a great trivial pursuit question)

how the hell did my head get full of this crap?

a lot of good responses here thanks guys ,i must have a look and see if the rest of the 356 is there as well ,i may have missed it ,it is skinny but not sure what size ,i will look for some logos on it

Yep looks like an early ford wheel as stated above - I have one exactly the same that I originally thought was porsche or early vw...but alas it is not.🙁

G'day David,
You'll find that it is an early Ford Prefect/Anglia wheel and the stud pattern is not exactly the same as VW 205mm but 8" (203.2mm), it will fit but but the studs only touch on the outside of the hole.
I have a few more of these down home in Vic.

nice hose reel, i would suggest getting it rechromed tho... i dont think the rat-look suits todays modern hoses 😉
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
