im thinking about what components to put in the rebirthed bug. ill be puting the same head unit and 6 stacker back in but im undecided about what speakers to put in. im leaning towards 6"s in the front and 6x9s in the back, but undecided about whether it needs a sub or not? id only go something small like a 8 or 10". brands dont worry me but i know i wont be puting sony xplodes in there. so let me hear some opinions on this set up

im running straight 6x9's in the back, with a nice home made parcel shelf.. a lot of people ask me where i have put the sub.. cept its only the 6x9's.. not even an amp. the shelf makes a nice box behind the back seat.....
i reckon 2 8" subs in a parcel shelf facing down (magnets in the air) with 6's in the front door panels (w/ pods)
or alternativly.. 6x9's in the rear and a 12" sub in the front, facing into the car right below the ashtray.. dunno how hard it'd be to do.. with fuel tank close to there.. but would be cool 🙂

i think i might just go a decent set of 6x9s and see if i need one. i didnt with the set of blautplank( is that the right spelling) and if necessary i can always add a sub now there a project for my time at work

the 6x9's i am running, are JL Audio TR690-TXi which are a 3way 6x9..
cost about $230 for the pair, but i highly reccomend them, as theyre the only speakers im running, and the sound quality is pretty damn good..
and i have no front stage.
it was definatley money well spent🙂

if you get god 6x9's you wont need the sub.
alternativly if you put 6x9's in the parcel shelf and a sub between or even near it the 6x9's and sub cancel each others bass levels out 🙁
i have been told there is a different way to wire them so they dont. BUT id just get the good set of 6x9's its a way better option.

hm... If you want pure sound I think good speakers will do the sub's job ... I mean good speakers as in high output power ones...
i just have some decent pioneer 6x9s in the back and 6"s in the front.. dont need an amp if you have a decent head unit and the bass and quality is good

Good 6x9's?? is there such a thing? if you want good sound don't bother with the two ways,threeway, etc get components. For great sound its the only way to go. A bug works really well with 6inch mids and angle adjust tweeters mounted in the quarter panel cards and a 12 inch sub mounted in a non-ported box in behind the rear seat with the sub forward facing. In the front doors or quarters a set of 4 inch mids and tweeter.Becasue of the shape of the bug it will fire the bass forward and give the whole sound real depth with out a loud outside noise loss(when you can hear the bass before you see the car). YOu dont need massive wattage to get enought volume to make you ears bleed going this road.
As for brands everyone will tell you different, i myself will only use kenwood amps and head units. As for speakers there are always new ones coming on the market so its down to personal choice, i use pulk,calbire,kenwood and soundlab mids and tweeters. kenwood and pioneer subs. The next person will swear blind another make is better... each to there own....

https://www.facebook.com/FlatFourfinally decided on a set of clarions front and rear so i went with the 6.5 inch fronts and a set of 6x9 3 ways in the back. couldnt find any blatplunk 4 ways like i had so i settled for the next best thing
