Here is a pic of a Prototype type 30 Beetle....
30 were made by Daimler Benz in 1937....
Suicide doors and still NO rear window...

Earlier prototypes has the headlamps in the bonnet...

These were all designed by Porsche as instructed by Hitler..

I was in the middle of posting scanned pics when the lights went off, computer didn't go off , but I was disconnected ...
