I am just interested in hearing some feed back on aftermarket parts people have bought for their cars that has or hasn't done what it should, or what the manufacturer clamed it would do.

No need to mention brand names.

I fitted a rear disc brake kit to my car, it's a very nicely made kit, but found the rear brake hoses weren't long enough and I had to make some, and the handbrake barely works even when pulled on hard. they don't work any better than my old type 3 drum set up.

I also have a 36hp dog house fan housing, what an ill fitting piece of crap that turned out to be, the fan rubbed on the housing no matter where you put the spacers, had to clearance it with a hammer, made it work ok in the end.

I won't go into the cheap running board nightmare.

I don't mean this to be a bitch session, just information for people to remember before they fork out their hard earned $$$$ for some crappy part or accessory.

Thought about that too, then the track is too wide.

So if the flange was larger od you could get the PCD in and this would be a winner .

Some goose told me that 2 sparks are better than 1,

I'm having all sorts of problems trying to fit the extra plug into the head.

Even tried the end of the push rod tubes. They just don't fit.

Anyone Know who might be able to help??

I think You Need a Genie or a Good Fairy ??🙂🙂

When You buy something that doesn't fit correctly, I always think of the other hundred or so people who have fitted them.. and wonder if they used a Hammer & chisel, or whether they just bolted them on.....🙂🙂

If its been chromed... I Now think twice and then say NO...
-they couldn't get it to fit when it was painted so they chromed them all ... - and they still won't fit.... but they look great on the shelf... they really aren't made to fit anything - just for sitting on the shelf or fridge...

I bought a kombi box into bug kit from someone in oz. it was badly made, think stick welder, didn't fit right, arrived late literally hanging out of the box, and to make matters worse, the front mount sent with the kit literally ripped in two the first time the car was driven under full power. that's not even mentioning the issues I am still having with the shift mechanism. the guy who sold the kit to me said this would be the 'easy' bit. just weld two bits together, he said.
:cussing

or at a a more simple level. i bought a quickshift kit for my beetle. it had a few simple parts and two bolts. the bolts were imperial. since when did any VW have imperial thread? if i hadn't thought hard about it i would have stripped the threads in the gearshift mount.
it could have been very, very ugly...:puke
