Hi All,
As most of you probably already know Dave ( Dyno) and I have recently taken over Custom Offroad Components located at 28 Hayward St Stafford.
Anyway we may shortly be looking for a Dub head to do some casual work for us. Flexible work hours and rate will be negotiated to reflect output !!!
If anyone is interested please contact me at
brad@customoffroad.com.au
We are also considering taking on an Apprentice. So if that is up your line of interest and you want to be a Mechanic or Welder then let me know also. We are currently undecided. The big limitation is age as if we offer an apprenticeship it will be under a Government scheme which means you need to be a under 19 ( I think )

.

Don't take it the wrong way but I would say Caloundra is to far and if you had to drive down each day you would be stressed before it even started.
stafford would be about and hour or so from Caloundra. Traffic is a bitch and very hard to judge........
We have a guy from Caboulture and ittakes him up to an hour some day and he drives a big ass 4WD with a bull bar ......

i'd like a job..........do you need a receptionist????? (heheheh, i'm such a girl....no grease for me thanks.....)
.
One of my mates commutes from caloundra evey day to the CBD for work and it tkaes him somewhere between 45 mins and 105 mins to get here. I used to commute from brisbane to the south of beaudesert everyday for 6 months for work and that was 50mins, with everybody else going the other way. Its up to you and how much you want the job. eg woudl mean leaving 630am every morning and not getting fome to possibly 7 or mabye later with bad traffic or a busy day.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
when the positions up for grabs brad (if its up for grabs) let me know if u will and i will see. i dont really care about getting up early i do it now anyway.
cheers
Nick

The position isn't really up for grabs. What we are doing is being prepared to take on someone if we find the right person ( if that makes sense).
You just see so many people complaining about finding work that we thought we would see if there was anyone out there worth giving a job too.
If you are serious then send me your details / resume to either
brad@offroadvw.net ( customoffroad page down for rebuild) or hard copy to 28 Hayward St Stafford QLD 4053 .
Cheers,
Brad

ok - sorry, didnt mean to be frivoulous and silly in your serious post.
as i said, congrats on the new business and am sure you'll find a very willing apprentice.
glad to hear george has some well-earnt time off!
.
I would actually love to do something like an apprenticeship in mechanics, but I am no longer under 19 🙁 (actually I'm closer to 22 😉) so I could never do it that way. But working under the "bonnet" of a VW would be a dream.
And grease never turns me off lil dub! 😉
You are never too old if you are the right person for the job ....

how "casual" is this casual job...
I can read 🙂
You dont have to be under 19 to do an Apprenticeship, I think that people over 21? do a Mature Age Apprenticeship, which basically means that first year wages are about 75 percent of a tradesman's wage and go up only little amounts until you are qualified, as apposed to the pitiful wage apprentices earn. I did a Mature age apprenticeship. But it is one for the employer to weigh up, the older person costs more, but this may be outweighed by a higher maturity and work ethic.

What cab said is totally correct,
In Qld the Wage for a starting Apprentice is $220 for a Mature it's $407
the 19 yr old things comes from the Government deal they hav going where they give you concessions
