I've recently aquired a 67 beetle with a good pan and crapy body. I plan on ditching the body and making a wheelie beast / buggy / bush basher. I'm after some advice on the best way to make a tubed frame and what parts to ditch or save.

I'm planing for the over all lenth to be about 6-7 feet long.

Advice or suggestions needed.

I bet the buggy boys will have some great tips.

Willing to pay in cyber beer. Here's a couple to wet the taste buds.:beer:beer There plenty more where that came from, keep the advice comming. Thanks guys.

Sounds like fun!

As far as I can see, it sounds like you will need to keep the fuel tank, steering column and perhaps the seats (front only I would imagine). Depending on who much you want to spend, you might also consider removing the wiring loom that runs to to back of the car from the dashboard - most of it won't be used, but at least you can still wire the engine up.

This is about the stage that my Baja is at right now - I have take the body off to repair and have restored the Pan. The engine and box are fitted to the pan now and I have got the engine running. Once I finish the front end I should be able to bolt on the steering column and drop some seats on the pan and go for a drive (oh yeah... might need to secure the fuel tank a little better too!)

Sounds like you will be keeping the welder warm for a while!

Post some pics - I would love to see how it is coming along.
