I'm a newcomer to the website but not to beetle's. I've been driving my one and only for the past 12 years but need some help in how I can tell if it's a '68 or '69 model.
Different mechanics have told me both so i'm a bit confused (not that it takes much!).
What's the chassis number?

If it's a 1968 it will be something like 118 000 001. If it's a 1969 it will be like 119 000 001. The third digit represents the year model.
