this is the event I entered on saturday. Learnt heaps about my buggy Zak and really got used to chucking him around once we tightened the handbrak up and changed a few tyres to stop understeer.
Here's the car that won. A Calita buggy I believe. He had turning brakes and a 1776.

yer understeer is a real bitch - have to back right off. try 'jinking' a car at the end of the straight to set up for the corner if you want sideways.

I found the handbrake was my real friend. About halfway through the day the button, rod and spring came out rendering the rachet useless, this in reality was a real help. It meant it was instantly fly off. 😎

Not looking forward to fixing it though, gunna be a bitch 🙁

I have been messing about with the baja and have found it responds really well to a "Scandinavian Flick" to get the back around pretty quick. dont need the handbrake at all.
If it aint broke,
Make it go faster!!

what motor and tyres are you using?

I found that for the really slow stuff, like the motorkhana, I needed the handbrake to get it to start sliding. I never got out of 1st gear during the event. Also, there was so much dust on the weekend that the front wheels tended to understeer more than anything else.

Second gear stuff is another proposition. Compression lockups were fine so I guess a flick would work as well.
