Just got offered a New job and promotion in Darwin. So it looks like the family, the toys and I are moving earlier than thought.
So it looks like I'll be checking out the VW Scene in Darwin late Feb.
Gotta love the defence force, we've only just moved to Victoria 4 months ago and now were off again. That make move No 9 in 11 years.
Should be interesting to see how many VW freaks there are in the area if any?

Congrats on the promotion!! There are plenty of cheap kombis up there if you know where to look. Not a good time to be moving though.....cyclones and the hot summer...and the glorious rain....:o:o😎

Hey its not that bad up there.
Lived there for three years and wouldn't kick up that big a stink if they sent me back there. Just SU**s big time about the number of moves in time, can relate but am not quite that bad.

Thanks guys, I think I'll transport the cars up. I don't really trust the old girls on such a long trip, beside too much wear and tear.
My family and I lived in Darwin about 6 years ago, so we know what where in for.

i lived in darwin for 2 years i think its awsome ,alittle hot in summer but the dry season rocks mmmm barra fishing. when i was there there was a awsome white over blue split that was in mitchel st all the time and at the end of mitchell st you should find this nice old german bloke running his vw shop he is pretty honest aswell .

one night when i first arrived doing the round aus in a kombi thing (then got stuck for 2 years) we couldnt get any sleep in the kombi due to security waking us up and threating us with a fine ,so we parked right there in that car park ampngst the other buses poped up the roof and sleept like babies. ah memories
Actually that make me remember. Thats the mechanic that I took my old bug to when I was up there 10 years ago. He was honest and good at what he did. Damn thats some memories.

Yeah the vw guy was pretty honest, I bought a 76 golf off him in 97. The only bummer is he dosen't really sell many goodies for the old dak daks.

maynot sell too much for them, but if I remember well, he knows what the hell he is doing with/to them.
