I have a 2.0l engine in my '74 twin-cab, but it was fitted with an 1800 gearbox. The box is sick, so I've tracked down another 2.0l motor and 2.0l box.
The 2.0l box looks different, as does the clutch and flywheel and starter motor. It seems to me that if I want to use the 2.0l box, I'll also have to use the 2.0l flywheel, clutch and starter motor. Have I got that right ? Is there anything else that I'll need ?
The clutch release bearing on the 2.0l box looks a bit different too, but they look like they are pretty much interchangable. Is that right ?
Also the 2.0l box looks like its an inch or so longer. Does that mean that I also have to use the gear selecting rod that comes down from the front of the car from the 2.0l car as well ?
Why is life so complicated ?
