All gears and syncros are fine, no crunching, no oil leaks, just a little noise coming from the differential.

My third box in 3 years... which I spose is nothing new since I am on my third engine too.

I gather you haven't got superdiff.

BTW, how strong are the 1800boxes?

I got one in my buggy behind a subaru ej25, how much HP is yours trying to cope with?

This one is just an old stock one, behind a stock 2 litre.

what's the albin's gear out of?

and what car have you been doing burnouts in with the 1800box, a kombi?

i guess the answer to my question about strength is "not very", right?

the albins was in my turbo fastback.

I havent been doing any burnouts!!! Too old for that.

A standard 2lt box was all I had when I had my turbo kombi (same engine that broke the albins gears). They are plenty strong. 2 lt and 1800 are very similar, ive heard some say that 1800 is stronger of the two.

The first one I broke was a stock one in the fastback flat changing into 2nd gear at bathurst. The second one was the albins 1st set when the guy at WSID let me do a burnout AFTER the water instead of in it (easier to blame him). I dont know what went wrong with this one, just old I guess. Was just driving along and around a corner I had a locked diff. Then it started locking , releasing, banging. Then when I stopped at a set of lights all the bits that were locking it must have fallen out of the diff centre and I had no drive at all. I have to admit that I did keep driving 30kms after all this started. If something is 1/2 stuffed it might as well be fully stuffed.... and I have plenty of spares. Getting one reco'd at Dunhams here in the gong.

Sprained my wrist pushing the :cussing thing off the road too.
