Keeping it real !
What about TV shows - Ive been on THE GREAT OUTDOORS SUMMER SPECIAL & CREEK TO COAST with my beach buggy
Foxtel paid me $350 to use my Bay window in a Foxtel Digital ad. I dont have Foxtel so I havent seen it yet!
Here's a wild tale..........I once organised for a Silver Karman Ghia to come down to Goulburn, for a Japanese rock video shoot. The owner couldn't do it so he sent his son down, we gave the guy $900.00 paid for his Motel room, bought him dinner, reimbused him for fuel and gave him $50 bucks for his beer money, the car was to be driven by the Jap's lead singer ,and as it had to do a donut on the dirt road (stock 1500cc) The gave me the driving job. any way I nailed it on the rehearsals (2, of which we nearly always roll camera on anyway) when the owners Son came over and said" NO! NO! NO!" you can't do donuts in it, it's a classic! I respected his wishes and said "well we got it on the rehearsals anyway", The Cameraman then informed me the Jap's did not want to roll on the rehearsal so we did not have the shot!.....The Jap's could not see the guy's point at all and wanted me to do it again (I should add here that the KG was not exactly in great condition) They instructed me to offer him some more money, so I offered 500 more No he said it is not my car it is Dad's and it is not the way to treat a classic. the Jap producer got involved and offered him$1000, NO1, $ 2000, NO! %5000, NO!
10,000.00 NO..I am beside myself at this time and told him to ring his Dad I said" Man for $10,000 you can repaint and get a new engine, let them do it", No! he said "it is the principle of the thing" well the Jap's really needed this shot as it was to tie in with close ups of the lead singer, we shot with the car on turntable, on the dirt road ...
Now get this, He was eventually offered $25,000.00 dollars, in effect they said "we buy your car and give it back when finished" I said "your Dad will Kill you if you pass this up" he said " I don't believe you will pay so NO!"........ "Okay" we said "we will have change the shot to a driving shot" which he was happy with ............we drove it down the country road out of sight and reset the crane and camera and did the donuts twice and he got nothing ......
I still to this day I shake my head at this Guy's pig headedness, and I wonder if he ever told his Dad............
By the way the Jap's would have paid, they always do!

That was for the 50th celebrations in Hobart November last year.

didn't get paid to let them play with it, figured they let me hang around a play with dolphins so that was a fair swap for me...
silver - thats a crazy story. i wonder if the penny dropped for that guy later on, what he'd missed out on. he musta been young, you let a lot of opportunities go by when your young i reckons!

There was an Orange camper on a Foxtel ad tonight. Is that the one? It's on for about 3-5 secs.
Squiz....
our mango 1302s cabrio has been shot and seen in the VW Australia magazine recently . It was also shot for the Fast Fours magazine which will be published very soon . An engine shot of the turbo type-4 was shown in the last issue of Volksworld magazine from England . 😉It was also filmed at the Fast Fours Jamboree in Sydney and I am told that there is a Jamboree feature this weekend on Speedweek on channel 10.
Looking for the right contacts for the cabrio to be used in film or advertising . ( definately no donuts or dirt roads though )
