i have seen a phaeton up close and personal when i wa in germany 2 years ago and all i can say is that there a beautiful piece of machinary!! anyway hopefully get this book ASAP!!

I got it! EFFUN UNREAL! I was so happy reading it, I almost cried. Then I got sad and angry because of all the pics of VWs and factories... now gone...

In about 2 weeks the 'Limited Editio' with DVD containg 2 movies made by VWA during the 1960s, a 32 page 2 colour booklet, reproduced exactly as in the 1961 edition, leather fell binding (silk touch) mailing box, stamped seal with certificate ..... and only 80 of 250 remaining!

Sorry to tell you guys but I already bought the book at christmas it's unreal great read I got it from Drysdales auto book store at bowen hills it is worth every cent.
An order form and review of the book is available in the current issue (#5) of VWMA.
An interview with Rod Davies, the author, and exerpts from the book will be in Issue#6.
But have you got the DVD!

I have seen the final DVD and it is bloddy fantastic!! Footage of the factory pressing body panels, welding, painting, testing, assembly and the like plus seeing brand new split's and beetles driving of the production line is a real eye opener. I am told the only way to get a DVD is in the limited production (only 250) leather bound books with said DVD plus a bonus repro volkswagen booklet that was produced in 1962? (from memory).
