Just a note to say thanks to Jenz58 for giving up her time to travel over to South Yarra an Inspect a 1963 RagTop Beetle that was advertised on this Forum by a chap.Who shall remain annonymos.
I spotted this car which looked like a great project and contacted the seller. We agreed on a price and fixed the sale for the car to be collected thursday 30/12/04 I arranged with him to provide his bank account details so I could deposit 50% now and 50% on collection. Madly got on the forum and Jenz58 came to my aid and agreed to inspect the car and re-assure me I had not purchased a lemon.
All was fine and next got off to finding a car transportation company that was reputable and even asked Gibbo who steered me away from the company who ruptured his spleen over the notch he brought. Next job sent off the deposit to the car carrying company and all should have been Sweet.Car to be collect midday thursday 30/12.
But alas the seller took it upon himself to sell the car from under me this morning. So much for an agreement and trying to do the right thing buying a car so far away from where I live.
I guess it is back to looking for that elusive ragtop I have always wanted.
