Okay Okay, it went to post before I had finished writing it...

I swear I am the worst typist here....pushing all the wrong buttons at the wrong time.....just ask my partner about his car...hehe

Okay, I picked up a bug yesterday...and need to source the following:

New windscreen
Hand brake cable (you should have seen the test drive when the guy and I changed over....just put foot here, hold till i'm on ur side...and jump when I say....flmoa)
Clutch has a lot of play...(pls lead me to string which says how to tighten it)
Kick plates (I think most call the side soemthings...yeah I'm very technically minded (not)
Back light housing (drivers side...I don't think that matter though does it (side that is) but then i rarely think right??)
glove box insert
headliner
and a big fat hose thing in motor....he's is taped up and still has major holes....

Also car coems with owners manual...so when it arrives here, I should be able to tell u in more technical terms what I am looking for.

But any help appreciated, even if ur only directing me to strings

cheers
Donna

Ps: I also have a thread sitting in part wanted

which side of brissy do you live on?

find a good parts and or mechanic

leons or vw and volvo, phenix, etc for the south side. micks for the norht side.

should be able to tell you where to get most of the new parts, and a lead or might have some second hand parts.

also try and find a manual, it will be ur bible, either e grgories style one, of john muirs book.

if you new to the scene, mabye a club could help?

I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!

Hey, it's great to hear another girly having the same challenges with learning all the technical jargon ecetera. Are you doing the work yourself? I've just started on a 65 bug and am learning at a rapid rate, I've read more about VW's in the past month than I've read about anything!!😉
History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.

I'm tearing down a '76 and have all that you need, if your car is near the same age...
