Need help identifying this Type 1

Just looked at an early type 1 beetle.. The NSW reg sticker has the following:

0111249514

Then below the Plate Number on the sticker there are these numbers..

3051046..

I am guessing the 1st number is the cn.. Type one bettle dates 1961..?
Am I correct?.. Anything else I can learn from these numbers?

Advice appreciated.. I am thinking of buying it..

dunno if it would be an original delux or what ever but as the interior is a different colour to the fancy trim........or didnt that matter ?

Pyr0.. Seeing your project yesteday inspired me to go and have another look at this.. So your saying the interior should match the colour insert on the side mould?..

well im no expert but from what ive seen they do....hmm prolly wait for a few more reply's though, also they may have replaced the door cards on it :duh


forgot to mention i took the front guards off mine today to start the rust repairs 😉

Yes.. I'm happy that with a bit of a tidy up, I can be driving it.. Maybe do a resto down the track but for now, its just cheap wheels..

Does the side flashy bits make it a particular model ie; Deluxe? Or did they just tart up the odd basic beetle on the production line.. I must admit, I like the look but just trying to research it a bit more.. My bug knowledge is SFA

umm from what ive heard and seen, the dealers back in the day did it to help sell them, as for comeing under a different title as say "delux" i dont think they are classified any different....mind you its better to have more then 1 opinion on this 😉

The bumpers also dont have the towel rails which I understand were deluxe trim..
