after some advice, can buy some phone dial rims with 16 x 7's with 205/50/16 remould rubber. I don't care about the rubber however I do care about the fact that I've got a 1958 beetle and am wondering if these will fit. Am thinking about getting porsche discs to suit but want to know whether they'll fit to the existing drums. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a learner dubber.
Thank-you in advance
Ryan
definately won't bolt straight on.
you'll either have to use adapters or
go 1500 beetle brakes with re drilled stud pattern then you still may have problems with the offset ,eg rubbing on the inside.
you may have to do a bit more homework.
Yep if you still have the stock brakes you will need to get new drums redrilled in the porsche pattern 5 x 130. Adaptors for converting patterns arent legal in NSW.

thanks guys, but what I'm mainly worried about is the offset, I can combat the stud pattern problem by drilling new holes. but I don't want problems with rubbing on the guards or the inner skirts...any advice on the actual rims (fitting to the 58) themselves????????

Take your wheels off and measure them from the inside bolt plate to the inside rim. See if they rub anywhere inside the guard. See if they sit outside the guards too on the outside rim. Drill holes in a blank hub, not extra holes in a 4 stud hub.
