I got a tent with my 74 kombi camper a couple of years ago and have only just decided to unroll it and have a look at it.

Does anyone know anything about this type and how they are supposed to attach to the van?

It has the name "freedom - Made in aust" sewn onto the side.

Here is a piccy.

Yours seems similar to mine.Unfortunately my picture doesn't show you properly the side that connects with the van but we pull out the hanging bit & attach it to the gutter part with plastic clamps.Theres also strings on the end that we tie up over the van also. Its a little hard to explain but it was basically trial & error & we just played aruond till we were happy with how it connected. Its a great accessory to have when your camping.I just love mine.

Hey Guys,
can these be attached to any kombi or does it have to be a camper.Ours is a 71 Bay Kombi.
They look unreal.

Yeah Lisa i'd say if you played around with it it could fit any Kombi.I'd definetely recommend one,its just a matter of finding one.keep an eye out on ebay as thats where i found mine or put a post up,someone might have one sitting around that they never use.
Mines an actual VW one that has the VW stamp on each side but the part that attaches to the side of the bus looks really similar to kkk's.
