G'day Purplet3,
was reading the Chicken Chokers Run thread and noticed a few comments about your car and you said you didn't know who built it.
It was built in Williamstown, Melb, in about 1987 by a bloke who from memory either lived in Kokoda Rd. and/or had a bussiness called Kokoda Engineering. I went to his place and your car was sitting in his front yard and from memory he had not long finished it. He also showed me a heap of photos of others he had done and was doing, generally along similar style as yours with set back headlights T top ect. The headlight treatment I beleive was all hand made.
He also built these wild looking little racing boats.
Somewhere I've got a heap of photos of your car and the others because at the time I was building a Type 3 conv up in NT, so I'll see if I can find them and scan them for you.
I for one think your car is very unique in its' styling looks great because it is DIFFERENT and people will either love it or will not be sure about it.
Cheers, Ian.

Excentric (wife says) VW nut, having owned 250+ VWs in 40 years.
mid engined 2332,
I reckon it's tops, the only thig I'd change would be getting rid of the back spoiler thingy, but that's minor.
I thinks its great!
It`s been well done , one of the very few covert type 3`s that pull it off.
Just needs an old school roof rack. LOL

Thats so cool to get some info on Fanny(fastback).I'm sure Steven will be stoked to read this.Thanx Desert Bug.:thumb
(I agree Nath,definetley needs some accessories..lol....:thumb)
Oh....Snap.....!
i was wondering about how it got made, love the light treat ment now it needs to get slammed
Theres been a few T3s built without a roof over here. My friend Simon runs "The Paintbox" here in the UK, and built a roof chopped late variant. Was so chopped it looked like a letterbox, slammed on moon discs and painted purple.
Simon also built a Karson topped Square
There was also a candy red late square which was built ages ago, with NOS oxide bottle in the rear. Its now looking really sorry for iitself.
In the US there was a pink Targa fasty featured back in 89. Also a V8 one a bit like the blue T3 in your pic.
I think I saw the purple one in the other thread over the weekend. It needs slamming for deffo!
Stu
Thanks desert dude, if you've got some old pics I'd love to have a copy. I had heard rumours that there was a guy who had made a few convertible type 3s similar to mine. It would be great to find out some more history and maybe track down the other members of the Kokoda Eng family.
Roof rack??? Oh you mean an air rack, bit like a sky hook.
Yeah, I think she looks pretty cool and I love the fact that she's different. But because she is so different, people tend to either love it or hate it. I know little kids and girls tend to love it. On the other hand heaps of people don't like converted anythings.
What is it with lowering everything? I agree the front needs to drop a couple of inches, but it's a daily driver and the back already scrapes on alot of driveways and speed humps. As for accessories, the only accesories I want are bits which make it go faster, stop better or turn quicker, plus maybe some fog lights.
