Someone on here has offered me a nice condor for my KG. Not sure of exact details as far as money is concerned. I would think that the KG was worth more than the condor but then again don't know much about them.

Condor needs new paintand complete interior. It does have a 13b rotor in it. So it sho uld go like a shower of you know what. It is QLD rego'd though.

Would i ever get it rego'd in NSW? Even if i changed the engine out for a VW motor or subaru could I get it rego'd being a kit car.

Here is the link to my KG.

The KG is worth more and is worth keeping, better resale in the long run.

No way would I consider such a swap, backward step.

these are rare australian built, so they can be worth and have sold for 20-30000 aud in good nick. this one seems to have the original simmons that they came with back in 1980. seems like a neat car. i would swap, but i have a leaning to them. no rust int he body. solid design, with built in impact features. they shouldnt have a problem in nsw, currently. but i suppose like anything it depends on the engineer. things like the windscreen are easy as they wree from alfa romeo. so its not hard to fix. the rest is T3 floor pan.

is it the guy on here registered as 'condor'? i tried contacting him as i wanted more info, but no reply. if you have a pic of the interior, would be great. if you dont take his offer, let me know.
thanks.

Hey Wes I like it but need the cash. Not sure what cash would be involved if any. I would love to register it but could possibly get it on vintage plates I suppose. I think it would do up nicely.

Do you have any info on them you could send me. I asked elsewhere once before if you had any pics of yours. Not sure if you posted them as i forgot where i asked.

Sorry I have no interior shots. Not sure who it is on here as i got a phone call and then just an email. I can pass on details if i pass up.

I wouldn't do it myself but its a matter of taste. Fibreglass look fibreglass regardless. A KG is a classic and will always appreciate in value. Can't see that happening to a Condor. But again, its a matter of taste

Well the condor is very cool - but its in a different category than the KG. Its definately a kit sports car vs a classic "sports" car.

It might be best to check with the engineers / cert people over your way, lots of people (ie Baja Wes et al) have made comments about the 13b being to big for the weight of a Beetle for the regulations. I don't know how they would view a kit car?

Cheers

HI GUYS sorry havent got back to you wes lost camera and had email trouble.car is going really well just replaced front g/box mount and fitted brace, will be racing in the gatton street sprints 4-6 march, should do okay only a 1000 metre course with 4 corners and 4 chicanes,i was actually invited to participate once they saw pictures of the car ,which they are using for publicity in the local paper.the car has been engineered and reg in queensland with the turbo 13b with no problem,as it is based on a type 3 not a beetle
