Anyone know the best place to get coloured bulbs for indicators (late t1)? I know the fronts you just use the pre 68(?) ones and file down one of the little tabs, but I also need them for the rear assembly. Are they the same bulb?

Sorry I'm too lazy to get off my arse and pull my indicators apart.

jaycar has a kit where you can replace the globes with high intensity leds in the proper colours. they use the same fitting as the normal globes but are expensive. they do have a longer life though of the top of my head its something like 8-10 times longer

Blinker globes for front & rear on VWs are the same.
Single pin 12v 21w bayonet type bulb.

You can buy small bottles of amber/orange acrylic paint used in modelling and just paint the normal bulbs...

Tamiya Color Acrylic Paint clear orange X-26 10mls

should be available at most model /hobby shops...

I bought a box ten orange globes 12v in the UK that fit both my t3 and ghia, but I treid to buy such a globe from Autobahn to be told they don't make such a thing!
Then I was looking at mates Merc vito van which he'd smashed the lense to see the same globe behind,I removed it from his van went to the ghia it fit no probs.
The moral of this story is I have some spare ones if you are interested or you can get them from new dealerships????
SORRY BOUT THAT!
