I should probably put a thermostat in the lines to
leo's external oil cooler. Anybody have one lying around? To suit 1/2 inch lines.......
Also need a type IV starter.....
I'm also (believe it or not) struggling to find 7mm clutch
(pressure plate) bolts of the required grade. Can't seem to
but em new anywhere?
thanks

What kind of type 4 starter 2 litre?
Did you think about drilling the flywheel and tapping for 8mm bolts?

might need your expertise here. Its an 1800 flywheel
on a 2 litre engine (to mate to an L bug box). So actually I'm
guessing it'd have to be an 1800 starter because the flywheel is (possibly) slightly smaller in diameter than the 2 litre flywheel? I hadn't really thought this thru in detail - the 1800 and 2 litre starters are obviously different?
I could drill the flywheel for 8mm. Thought trying to find the 7mm bolts
might be less hassle but it may not turn out that way!

I definately have an oil thermostat in stock , pretty sure I also have a set of pressure plate bolts in 7mm for the 215mm kit and if you are running a 1800 flywheel on your 2litre engine in a type-1 gearbox then you can use a standard type-1 12 volt starter motor as I do with my turbo type-4 cabrio . call me work hours on 02 42725644 for prices and/or advise .
