Has anyone attempted putting a new VW badge on your old bug?

I have been thinking about trying to buy and attach a new VW badge (they are a little larger than the original) and put on the boot lid in place of the older one. Has anyone done this or seen it and what did it look like?

mmm might look a bit different but the badge thingo could be an expensive exercise?
maybe give it a go in photoshop to get an instant result without the expense?
just a thought yeah

Do you mean the one from the rear lid for a new beetle onto the front bonnet of an old one? and do you want to try and make it slide and have the handle underneath as well? or just the bright blue badge?

I reckon that just putting the badge wouldn't be too hard after you removed it from the handle mechanism and smoothed out whatever it pivots from. There maybe a small curve required to fit the old shape bonnet, but if you used good double sided tape (or whatever badges use nowadays) you should be able to get away with it being flat.

Who cares what purists think, its your car 🙂 not theirs :P
