Hey Guys,
I've had my '73 superbug for about a month now, slowly restoring it to its former glory. I am almost there!

I have one complaint about my car, its the exhaust, which points down towards the ground. When the car is running and stationary, the co2 blowing out will stain the ground, over time it leaves a small black patch. So its an inconvenience to park my bug in the garage without staining the drive way.

Is this a common problem? What can be done about this?

Thanks! :-)

If that is the case i would say you are running slightly rich.
You shouldnt leave a black mark.

Cut the end off the pipe and aim it back rather than down and re-weld it.
Im not a complete idiot, quite a few parts are missing....
