I like to tell ebay sellers what they are doing wrong...
If You don't tell them..
they will never know....
I reply to ebayers "ask a question"
usually about 10-20 times a week.....
they WANT to Sell.... otherwise the item wouldn't be on ebay..
So they NEED to know....
Its no good burying Your head in the sand...
then they will Never know....

Yeah lee mostly they are in USD that way I get more USD to but the bits I want from The US. Have you been successful enough with all your VW renos never to have bought things from the states? I havent. In fact several of the items in these auctions I bought from the states in the first place. Nearly all the rest came from Germany , so i dont really understand your point re VW items going US? I send stuff everywhere , Germany France Malta Thailand etc they all have VW . I also have as I said bought stuff from everywhere.

I have had people send me messages from ebay in the past abusing me for listing things at too high a start price. Seriously, if it's too pricy why don't people keep looking and not hastle others? Sorry to jump into your thread but I think I needed to vent...
If it aint broke,
Make it go faster!!
who are you to say he is doing it wrong
i read the description
the price
saw the pic
and even read the terms and conditions
they seems fine to me nowhere does it say you cant use another currency
so can you please piont out to me what he has done wrong lee

Any reason why some items are in USD and some are in AUD?
No reason for this question, just curious :-)
If you drive fast enough you're past the accident before it happens !
OK Mitchell,
Points taken...
I was going to buy that ignition switch off You but after looking at some of My 10 workshop manuals....
It looks like it only fits beetles [probably type 2s too] where
the key switch is actually in the dash and a screw holds it in place... [screw is underneath the dash]
so it only fits up to >1968 Beetles.... [None Newer] in Aust.
it won't fit into the column....
so its a RARE NOS Key Switch... for most early Beetles....
If I had an early Beetle I would have snatched it up...
cheers

and Yes Mitchell, I have bought VW parts from the US...

I've been told to list things in US dollars because you will get more money. How do you list in US dollars?

I have now found that Mitchell was selling His parts on ebay motors which I believe is the USA Ebay for auto parts & cars.
It may be the default currency used on ebay Motors...
I don't know....
but when You look at "ebay Motors" everything is in $US..
and Holy Cow, are there some VW parts for sale cheap in the US.... on ebay motors.... Karmann Ghia type 1 & 3 parts
type 3 new parts.. and naturally Beetle parts.... & Kombi...
You just have to remember when buying US parts that they sit on the passenger side over there 🙂🙂
So, a passenger side mirror is a drivers mirror in Australia..
all speedo cables will be VERY short....
Gene Berg Shifters have the thumb button on the wrong side
Front wheel bearings are for drum brakes on late beetles..
just a few things I have noticed...
Plus You really need PayPal or similar to buy from USA....
I love PayPal...

ebay will automatically convert curency for you if you use paypal. thats how I always do it. (i buy heaps of stuff from england which is all in pounds)
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it enjoy the view
Pay Pal sucks, you have to pay for the priviledge, dont like that. Much prefer direct deposit. I put PayPal on my auctions because it might turn people away not to have it. $31.68 in fees for only 4 trades. That spells sucks in any language. :o.

Ebay and Paypal are one of the biggest companys worldwide and are SO GREEDY, but its the way of the world, i use them as there is no other wat to advertise your wares, on the same hand if it was not for ebat i would not sell half as much, but they are soo greedy lol, 29.99 = 75c + $1.50 + paypal if used + $1.25 Total $3.50 approx 11 1/2% of the sale, now who is the winner here!!!

LMAO, one of biggest companies worldwide and they dont use spellcheck. Thanks for the link, even if it has a typo 🙂 I agree they are necessary evil. Anything is fine for sellers but buyers need to know they have some kind of backup when things go wrong. I have to say, even though I have only been using ebay for a few weeks, im already hooked on it. Its my new chocolate. Now if only I was eveil enough to have 2 ID's to bump up my items. I'm too honest for my own good. Letting my turbo go for $350 near killed me. Everyone go and bid on my torsion bars and brakes. Do it now, 2 hours left.

Amazer see turbo lister in sellers tools on ebay. Download it and list wherever you want I list in Australia usually bulkier items and US smaller . if you list on US or Australia. and use the " sell international " option then your auction appears in a search whAT ever country you are in that is if you list in Australia and select 'international " then you are in UK and search then the auction appears and is converted to whatever local currency that is applicable. With paypal now accepting AUD USD UK POUNDS ETC its universal and easy.
But yes a rip off, wish I bought ebay shared 10 yrears ago, they now own paypal as well so the get you for a percentage of the auction total and then again for the payment. RIP OFFFF ther eare now over 75 million people registered with paypal . Dont know how many ther are on ebay but heaps. I did a search for my daughter for barbie and came up with over 30,000 items!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow!!!!!Mitcl.

I love Paypal as a Buyer.....
Usually for US stuff... but Now its in Aussie Dollars too..
Many people are using it in Australia...
Before most people would only accept PayPal in You were outside Australia....
I see what You mean about charging.... the Seller....
It does sound expensive....
they are getting at You both ways.... ebay & PayPal...
I found it was the easiest way to buy from the US.... as Money orders & Western Union are just too expensive....

Thanks for the tip. Who wrote turbo lister? Was it microsoft? Its taking twice as long to download the updates as it did to download the application!
I've posted my first negative feedback. Guy buys boost gauge, doesnt get in contact within 2 days, so I emailed and asked if how was going to pay. Got abusive email back, waited a week. He said he would send money order. a few days later I sent him reminder through ebay, recieved abuse. Still no money after 15 days. *sigh* guess it couldnt all be good.

Oh the person who bought my fuel pressure regulator (for $1 more than I paid for it new!!!!) asked me heaps of questions about fitting it. Asked me where to put the gauge. Had to draw heaps of pictures to send. I reckon they just wanted to put a fuel gauge in and thought they needed a regulator. I've got visions of a hyundai with sport sedan wings and racy petrol tank sticker and 6 inch exhaust leaning out with melted pistons all over mums driveway.
OK now you all need to go and bid on my wine. Its $200 less than retail. Gonna post my can of Duff beer for a ridiculous amount and see how I go. Cant believe I drank the whole case. 😠

Grrr im getting upset when I am outbid now. My wins I am paying too much for when postage is factored in. Damn ebay, im an addict.
have you seen the wanker (in Australia) selling bonnet badges for $1 but charging $19 postage. Is that legal?
Chris.... kombi pilot, oval dreamer... finisher #26971 2005 city to surf
Yeah, you've seen 'em too!! What a crock, any self respecting veedubb enthusiast wouldn't put one on their lawnmower. What a tosser!!
By the way, if you don't like an ebay post, don't bid!! The seller will soon get the message.
