With plans ever changing for the Notch i have chosen to go turbo'd big T4 power and also now in a 66 bug ( long story), hence the sale of this motor . Here's the history.
Engine
Came with car bolted to an IRS L bug box. Have receipts for a new case and 1776 pistons and barrels. Apart from the increase in cc's i believe it's a fairly stock motor , mild cam , heads have been polished. Owner was a little fague on the details unfortunatly. The motor was running fine before it was pulled out the Notch for detailing. I'm unsure on how many miles it's done , wouldnt be many as car was sitting for 4 years.
I was going to add an electronic ignition along with the 44's and see how it went after a service and dyno tune. Any inspection welcome. Comes complete with tinware , dizzy , genny etc.
Webbers
Bought from VW Fastback and never used. Have had about 20 hours of use and are in great condition. They are currently jetted for a 2176 motor . They come on brand new Type 1 manifolds along with hexbar linkage and those awesome looking stacks. Bargain! Both priced to sell .
Engine $1100 complete
Carbs $ 800 complete
Buyer pays postage or collects
Serious enquires only please U2U etc,
Ta Dan

Is there any way you can squeeze the webbers under the decklid?
Shorter manifolds? Low profile air filters?
I can do skids.
In the Wet.
On Oily surfaces.
Hey Danny I'm a bit interested. How hard to convert to t1?
otherwise I have a friend who might be interested for his notch.
I know you can squeeze 40's under on short manifolds, sure these are bigger though. The carbs would be best placed in a Notch or bug i reckon , few mods either way. Changing it to type 1? Don't know on that , sorry.
Dan😉

type 1 you would need just to adjust where the cable attached to linkage.
it says the manifolds are type 1 and not short type 3.
looks clean, wish i won lotto !
you have u2u

One nice looking engine
Let me out, When I call my name
IGOR is ALIVE !!!! 😎
That will be twice now that those carbs have given way to turbo charging.
Was looking forward to hearing them roar.
Good luck with the new motor danny. I think I will be seeing you on the strip.

Type 3 engines are ont too hard to convert to type 1 - I have one in my bug (though to be honest its actually an AS41 universal case that was installed in a type 3). You need to change the dipstick and a couple of other things, but the biggest is obviously a full set of tin wear.
But yes, the long block wouldnt be an issue to put in type 1. you would however need to change the linkage for the IDF's if you were keeping them.
Sorry but carbs sold. A little confusion and a no show/ time waster didnt help the process but now sold. Thanks for the interest, sorry to those that were waiting.
Motor IS available , now at $950 , bargain

Hi Danny, I am interested. So you're saying running, so it has carbs? Tin and genie for T1 or T3?
