Howdy,

I have a white '72 Type 3 and am after some touch up paint in the correct colour. I can't find a colour id on the car anywhere and I have gone through all the Owners Manuals/Delivery Card and can't find any details either. The paint shop told me there are a few VW whites that were used in 72. Can anyone help me work out what white I require?

Cheers

Antartica white was very popular then.

There should be on a 72 a paint code sticker from Dulex in the front boot.

Sweet Action dudes - I remember the paint guy mentioning 911 as a possible code as it's not a number you forget easily :-)

...I'm not going to sleep now...I loved those colour code pages....looked at them so much when I was choosing a colour for Bel

Keep in mind that the colour has probably faded/changed a little in the last 33 years.

Antartica White, Lotus White, Polar White. were all colours available for type 1s and 3s at this time being a 70s car i would guess its one of these.
