Bought myself an engine about a month ago, and have yet to find an appropriate purpose for it... Been looking for a Dual Cab Split, but have been recently been toying with the idea of building a Bay Dual Cab and doing it like the Beetle guys do German Lookers, grey paint, lowered big engine big wheels...?.... Anyway, heres the two options...
go the grey
i think splits look great grey
1961 swb buggy
1960 karmann ghia
1963 Single Cab: "El Concreto"
1963 bent 23 window " Frieda Samba "
1963 Eriba Faun camper " Cara Van daCamp"
2012 Skoda Octavia scout
Get down low and go,go,go
I like splits, but the grey bay window with the gasburners looks pretty hot. I say go the bay window to be different.
Jon
hard choice easy answer buy another motor & have both
both look mad but the bay would need less rust repair work as in the tray and all that stuff
I like the oldskool look the best............
Beach Buggy
74 L Beetle
Mk4 Golf
i just love the bays, go for it so much easier to find and fix
go with the bay.. but not with gas burners.. go with bigger wheels

VW no more... sigh.... well, at least it's a cousin
green colour scheme is very cool
Reimagined/Recycled/Upcycled Cool
go the bay dude, i was going to email you and suggest it recently, you need to get back on the streets, and if you wait for that perfect splitty with no rust for a bargain price.... well, you'll be waiting forever.
plus as the others said, you've got less rust to deal with, newer parts, better safety to some extent.
you can always paint a stripe down your windscreen to make it seem like your driving a splitty when youre behind the wheel?
haha.
the bay looks pretty mean! id go the bay 😀
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
