G'day ,
I'm hoping for a bit of feedback on a 1991 dual cab ute I looked at today.
Have been after one for ages, and although I prefer the asthetics of the ealier kombi's, I thought maybe a bit more grunt was needed. Being a sculptor Itend to lug a few heavies about now and then....
The ute is in great shape, lady owner, regular service plus a hiab crane to boot..
it's done 277,000 on the clock (bit of a worry i guess) and she's asking $13000.00
Now, I have nothing to compare the price to, as I never see any for sale , can anyone enlighten me on that? good price?
So if anyone could help me out I would really appreciate your time🙂
Cheers,
Boogs
I bought a '91 dual cab late last year, after looking at 3 over the last 12 months,
I saw a very nice one owner '91 that was an auto for $11,000, I wanted a manual so I didn't buy it.
A few months later a '91 manual came up, lots of K's and very rough, he wanted around $10,000 for it, was too rough and had rust in the tray.
Then the one I bought, was a 1 owner, 250,000 K's needed a good detail, and had a dented rear door, and a couple of other body repairs, but was honest, The guy wanted $5,500 for it, and I thought it was a great buy, I have since spent $3,000 fixing it up, including buying a crashed Caravelle from the Auctions for parts, now it is a 5 seater with all the delux stuff, powersteer, seats with arm rests, carpet, and factory alloys.
I have owned and driven bay twin cabs, and the T3 is a much better ute for towing, rides better, more room, and has more power, (in standard form) and uses gal body panels so rust isn't usually a problem either.
The one you looked at for $13,000 is in the high end of the price bracket, but then they don't come up very often either.
Good luck.

Descison made, keeping my eyeballs peeled for the next one.
Really appreciate your words, cheers again..

oh, and btw, are they noisy on the road? the eng is fine, only had a quick drive in hilly area, but pretty damn noisy. I guess no door panels and the like , must be a way to cut down driving noise..
cya 🙂
