On the 14th of July 1955 the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was presented to the public. Members of the media and business were invited to the Kasino in Georgsmarienhütte, which is close to the Karmann factory in Osnabrück.

KARMANN KRUIZE 05

Calling all VW enthusiasts you are invited to the KARMANN KRUIZE 05 to celebrate the 50 year Anniversary of the Karmann Ghia.

Brisbane, Sunday, 17th July, 2005

This will be a social event that will involve a convoy and BBQ/Picnic.

We aim to connect, in some way, with the world-wide celebrations so we want as many Karmann Ghias and VW enthusiast together as possible.

This event will also relaunch the Australian Karmann Ghia Association.

Bummer that it's so far away from Vic. I love Karmann's (and still don't know why I don't own one!). This would be one awesome cruise

I'm not sure what has been Australia's biggest number of Ghias together at one time.

The Sydney KARMANN KRUIZES attracted some good role-ups back in 1995 - 97. And I know that the Victorians have had some healthy numbers.

I will scan some of the old KARMANN KRUIZE photos to get everyone inspired.

So put the word out and lets try and get all those Ghias out of the garage!
