what wires are meant to go on the back of a bay fuel guage? i thought mine was wired correctly but absolutely no reading even when completely full. also what sort of economy should i expect from an ea81 engine pushing a kombi along? put some fuel in today, estimate i have done 150+kays since last fill up (2x 40km return trips to work plus to burwood and back) and could only get $10 before the nozzle started clicking and only manage to dribble in another $5 (making about 15l total) before it became virtually impossible to continue. i never expected to get as good as 10l/100ks out of the car, do you think it is possible?

We've raised hassles before on the forum about fuel guages, they're not easy to fix! I have a bug one that reads half full all the time, whether it is full, empty, whatever!

Unsure about your engine, but in my 76 Kombi I had years ago (2litre engine) I would normally get 10km per litre....basically equated to 600km per tank. Of course, this would change re city, highway, hills, etc...but in general I could look at that.

Good luck with the guage!
