Just wondering what your thoughts are on this.
If you had someone coming to look at a car you had for sale, would you wash it, polish it and go overboard on the presentation or would you give it a quick wash and let them see for themselves the condition.
I tend to think that some people that go overboard might be trying to baffle you with shinneyness and have something to hide.
What do you think??
Cheers

I am think that presentation is the key definatly clean the car first impressions are the best. Just a wash or quick chammy and then spray the tyres with SO EASY we look it is the best stuff and stays on even if it rains. If you keep your car looking great it will be very easy to sell. Nothing puts me off more than a great car with no love. If the car hasn't had a polish for ages then do this if you have the time but if you don't it doesn't matter. I always keep my cars nice and presentable but not everybody has the time. If you want a quick job go down to the local car cleaning station with a shammy and spray it with soap cover the whole car then spray with water. After this shammy it will take about 20min and cost you about $2. I hope my advice counts and helps you make a decision all the best and the very best of luck with your sale:bounce
if you leave it dirty it hides the small scratches dents and imperfection if there are any
if you wash and polish it is much easier to see these dents
i would probably give it a quick once over and leave it at that chances are there gonna carry on about shit any way or not turn up to look at it
Dave I though pommies had baths. Mitchl LOL
23 windows ...8 too many!
if its your split im surprised its dirty
Just finished polishing the gear selector rod???????
if you polish it and keep it clean then it shows you look after and care for your car
Mitch.
Whats a bath.
I use a flannel, once a week if I need it or not.
Cheers
Dave
Great to see your conserving water. Perehaps you could flannel with a friend?
BTW do you have carpet in your bathroom.LOL
Mitch

To be honest it sound stupid to have carpet there, but you get up in the morning and its minus 5 degrees, you dont want to stand on cold tiles.
Worst one is carpet in the toilet .
Miss and its a funny smell for years.

.....too yucky...not even going to comment on your person habits :puke
I know it's a pian to wash the ride...byut when I've sold I do....I just think what sort of condition I want a car in when I buy....you want to just get in and go for a nice drive not have to clean up someone elses dirty mess (not that you'd have it gross or anything) I guess yes nice and clean so the person can jump in, cruise, enjoy the ride and feel they have a good buy 🙂
....yes carpet in the bathroom n dunny is such a bad move :jesus
ah man.... come on 57 you gotta wash an polish.....
goes without saying

Let it go to shit and try pass it off as a Rat.
You might get another trophy.
Why the hell wouldn't you wash it? polish it? It's good paint right? then look after it.
it depends on the car and how much you're asking...
if it's a bucket of sh#t any you don't want much for it, don't waste the sweat..
However:
I used to work as a detailer at the citys biggest and best BMW dealer..
They once took as a trade in, an "SJ" (your mother will hate it) Camira and for some reason they sent it to the detailing bay instead of just selling it off wholesale, as they would normally do with something like that in a Prestige Auto Dealer..
Well I got given the Camira and spent almost 2 days giving it the best clean it had ever had, (and it looked Fantastic when I'd finished, if I don't say so myself), then drove it out on to the lot as the detailing bay was closing for the night.. I came back in the next day, bright and early ready to start work and took a detour through the yard to admire my hard work Camira, parked in amongst the used Beemers, Benz's and such...
Looked, looked and looked some more till I gave up looking and asked one of the salesman...
Three of them let out a big cheer and said they had NEVER sold a car as quickly as THAT one.... I got a big thanks from all and a bonus at the end of that week...
The moral of the story... It may be a piece of turd, but if it's Gold planted, someone's gunna Want it....

I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
Depends on what you want for it personally presentation is everything and man I can tell you I looked at wash and unwashed. the worst was a Bay Panel @ noosa last year - the interior hadn't been cleaned I'm sure for the 4 years the guy owned it (it was the 2000 National champion kombi) and all it did for me was turn me off as I found more and more wrong with it as I went around over and under it - didn't buy it adn it ended up taking him 10 months to sell it - lol
Let me out, When I call my name
IGOR is ALIVE !!!! 😎
Yeah i would wash it!.. If you leave it dirty it may be an indication that you dont look after the car! I bought a dirty car and had to spend a few days cleaning it and scrubing the mouldy pop top plastic!!

I think some got the wrong impression.
Of course it will be washed(never gets dirty, only joking I actually went down a dirt road this week), its just that I was thinking about cleaning it and thats it.
I have heard of people going over board with them and getting a tooth brush out to clean tyre treads and crap like that,
Thats what I meant by over shinneyness, too clean.
Cheers
Dave
hahah yeah that is just alittle overboard :duh
When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace- Jimi Hendrix
.....lol.....no don't get the tooth brush nout that would definitiely be going overboard......I'd class that as obessive compulsive...anal at the least.... don't go there .....normal good clean is all
leave it dirty so the bloke doent buy it then you have to keep it
dont sell it you FREAK
Paul
now you've washed it, it's bloody raining.
isn't it always the way.
can never be too clean, especially on such nice paint like yours
haha, did you wash it dave?
of course I washed it.
thats all though.
Then put it on axle stands so he could have a good poke underneath(I got notheing to hide)
took the prospective buyer out all day, i think he liked it. He couldnt believe how tight everything was, steering, brakes.
I thought they should be as they are all brand new.
will wait and see, as we were driving we spotted another split near West Beach and chatted, was a really god day.
That good infact, I am not sure if I still want to sell or not???????????
Cheers
Dave
Hey dave, good stuff.. Where did the guy fly in from?
Nice, hey dave if you pay for my flight, i'll come down and spend a day with you...
