Hi all just a short note,
I was one the vwtrendsweb site and there is a notice there stating that as of the April issue VW trends will be no more. There are links to follow if you have a question about your subscription.

I think this deserves a moment of silence as VW trends was one of the best VW Mags around. It had good features, tech articles and was very nicely presented.

Guess I had better look into getting some pommie mags now to fill the void hmmmmmmmm.

Yes, VW trends had its doors closed in December last year......
Instant dismissal ......

No One knew about it until it was over

.. the Jan-Feb-March issues had already been done.....

The replacement Magazine is called the "German addiction..."
Done by a different publisher.....

Same as TOTAL VW.... also went the same way ....
and then another publisher started ULTRA VW......

So, the readers are there......
its just that the publishers don't like VWs..... IMHO....

Publishers of VW Trends said they were just going in a different direction.......
They may have had another Magazine [not VW related] in the pipe line and one mag had to go.... [just guessing]

Just to point out that TOTAL VW has nothing to do with ULTRA VW magazine, in no shape or form.

TOTAL VW went because JAZZ publishing pulled it, I know this as I wrote for TOTAL VW on the Dub Decades articles with Ben.

DUBSCENE was launched for a very short time (only 3 issues in total) with Ben (original Total VW editor), Botch Venners, Ian Taylor and Bingo. They published the mags themselves (learning from Total) and had it on subsciption only, with a trade stand at some of the shows. Unfortunately it went tits up, but it was worth the gamble.

ULTRA VW is from the publisher of Street Machine, this magazine has X Volksworld staff. Keith Seume is no doubt familiar to many of the guy who launched Volksworld back in 87 after feeling that there was a need for a VW only magazine than putting the odd VW in Custom Car, which Keith was the editor of as well. Paul Knight who wrote for Volksworld for many years, and probably kept it going in all honesty, his articles were superb. Mike Key possibly one of the best automotive photographers period! also joined the team.

ULTRA VW is a very good magazine with quality and content. Theres none of the opinionated views and snide remarks which Volksworld is prone to. Just VWs and facts about them, the content is great as well, without having to resort to articles, which hold no value to the content of the magazine.

As for VW Trends from about 94 onwards it lost its way, and got less of content. Its a shame that the mag has now gone, HOT VWs was always king really. I do have some very old trends, and also issue 1 up to about 89. Should of bought back Dan Leadbetter!
