Put up some pics if there are any. I LOVE serious off road kombis, but can't remember seeing a notch or square or fasty for off road, and there's got to be one...

I have seen a white square driving in Brisbane.......looks so good I rang hubby and told him one of the cars in the backyard was getting Baja'd. But then got a beetle, so it is being Baja'd instead.

Ask Desert Moose, he probably has photos or info for you.

midlife... ive seen that hitched-up white square in paddington, absolutely fabulous car... the guys driving it were pretty dishy too

seeing as how im taking a camera with me everywhere now, i might be able to grab a pic of the car next time i see it!
in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

We had a couple, Erica and Peter, talk at our club meeting last night about all the off roading they have done over the years.

They came over from Germany at seperate time and meet here while travelling...

Pics were of trips around the centre.....Kimberley...and Cape York Peninsular....they love getting off the beaten tourist track

No Type 3's but several modified beetles (but not baja's)...massive air cleaners....kombi motor...extra tank behind back seat....snorkel for river crossings...

They also have taken kombis including a 4x4....One one trip several of their friends went and all had kombis

Fantastic pics of river crossings....roads leading across sandy dunes...honestly the pics need to be published they are a real tribute to the how incredible our VW's are....

Goodness I looked and I dreamt of adventure when I saw the pics and listened to the stories...they absolutely love the outback

They are more than happy to share their knowledge with anyone thinking about heading outback

there was a white one for sale for ages on the samba (in usa tho). just checked, its not there now.

surely theýd be good enough to get you up the end of the beach to get bogged turning around if you specced them with a bit of power, heaps of susp height, body lift, side glass replaced with lexan, internal pannels removed and all other non necessary bits removed for weight reduction and atleast big 33s on the back??

prob want a lower ratio first & second gear too. (oops just got myself another long long term project haha).

My father and uncle both had them for our family holidays to Fraser in the '70's. They could fit us and all our crap in after the families outgrew the bajas and they couldn't afford 4wd's. If I had a scanner I'd post some photos. My uncles was a panel van, now that was cool.😎 No boarded tracks back then either and they went everywhere. The dune at the champagne pools was particularly fun and everyone would cheer when the little wagons would make it to the top...ahh memories...:blah

Great Starbug.I'll hava a copy of it!!!!!!!! I thought that they suited the car extremely well and wouldn't have been surprised to see a set of surfboards on the top.
