We are soon to pick up our Kombi and are a bit concerned about that fact that we dont have a garage or even a carport. We really dont want her out in the weather all the time. Particuarly as we live in the Blue Mountains and it rains alot.
We rent so cant really go putting in a garage or carport and our ladlord is hardly going to go doing it LOL

Weve even concidered moving to a place with a garage......

Theres only one big tree that we could tie a tarp too, so that doesnt help, cause it needs a bit more than that to put in a make shift carport....

Can you get car covers gig enough for a Kombi? It may be our only option, although will be a right PITA, as the Kombi will be our family car and daily driver.

Anyone have any creative ideas in how we can protect our VW from the elements?

Keep the polish up to it or maybe buy one of those cheap plastic carports from supercheap auto and put it under that

Yes those carports from supercheap auto would be the way I'd go too. I think they're about $100 - $200.

Make a "lean to" on the side of the house... You can use corrugated iron for the roof, which can be bought cheaply (2nd hand from salvage yards) and wooden poles to support it.. (plenty of old dead trees up in the hills there).. You only need a few poles and when you're ready to shift house you can pull it down and move it no problems..
I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....

I have seen the JustKampers car covers that Roy at Classic VW(pacific) has and they are great, they even have a zip so you can get inside the van without pulling the cover off,.

Dont know how much, Give Roy a bell,

Cheers
