Sorry this is not a VW question, but it will help me purchase some VW bits :thumb
I need to pay for some parts in the US using Paypal. I have an account setup with paypal, but have no way to enter funds into my account to pay for the parts.
So what do others do to add funds to their account? Paypal tell me I need to transfer from a US bank account which I don't not have.
Any suggestions??
Alternatively can some one here either add funds to my paypal account (or transfer direct to the person I'm buying the parts from) and I can direct deposit funds to your bank account?
Cheers for any help!
Richard.

My Paypal account has always been paid by my visa card. When I first registered, I entered my visa details, ever since all my paypal payments have been billed to my visa card.
I know that some ebay sellers cannot accept paypal credit card payments, not sure why.
I can help if the seller can accept credit card paypal payments

Pay Pal works of your Credit Card I use my Visa no problems at all
Thanks Purple,
I have linked my credit card and bank account, but the seller has not setup to accept credit card payment. I think you need to pay for an upgraded account to do that, and he's just a friend who's sourced some parts for me. Just trying to find an easy way to pay for the parts.
Cheers,
Richard
Oh, Thanks Dave. I will have to investigate if I can do the same then, looks like what most are doing then!
😎
Hey Andy,
I use pay pal a fair bit and use a credit card. I plan on backcharging if they try and sting me, if they want to close my account then- fine, but I will have my money back

I have used Pay Pal to buy from the USA via My Mastercard..
Some parts places won't take it... and don't really want to sell outside the USA....
At least now there is some insurance with PayPal plus You can pay in Aussie dollars instead of US ONLY DOLLARS....
A friend in Canada bought Me some oil seals in the USA that I couldn't buy in Australia.... I ended up paying him in US Dollars via International Money Order which cost Me about $22 Extra just for the Money Order....
So, I prefer Pay Pal.....
Now if every VW parts seller in the USA would take it....
I'd be Happy....
Now, People on Aussie ebay are now starting to Use it....

My friend was in the same situation: she wanted to pay with paypal but the sellr couldn't accept credit card payments. So what she did was this: she transferred the money from her paypal account to mine (it got charged to her credit card), and then I transferred it back. She lost about $3 in transfer charges but then she had funds in her paypal acciount so she could pay the seller.
So just find a mate who you trust who has paypal, send the money to your mate, they send it back to you, and then you can make the payment.

A BIG Thanks for the help guys, we organised for him to accept credit card payment, and it's all going through now. Which is good seeing he sent the goods a week ago :blush
Purple Martin, that's what I've done in the past, but no one I know has any funds in their account currently.
Volksfolks, I guess anyone that size will be a constant target for hackers.
All sorted though, and some nice VW goodies on their way, should be here in time for my birfday 😎
There IS another way...
Every city in the World is hooked up via international funds transfer..
I use this system when I buy from the U.S. and have used it to send urgently needed funds to friends while travelling overseas...
You go to your local office, (in Perth I use Travelex on Hay street in the city, but they have many branches)... You go in and tell them which city, State, town, whatever you need to send the funds to, and how much you need to send in THEIR money... The paper work takes about 2 minutes and they give you a PIN number and a list of places that the money can be collected from...
I go home, scan the list and email it to the guy at the other end, let him know the PIN number and he goes down with photo ID to collect it in Cash...
In the U.S there are MANY agencies in every Suburb for them to collect, this system is Very popular over there and many of the places for them to collect from are places like 24 hour convienience stores...
The money is there for them 15 minutes after you send it and it's garunteed, so you don't have the hassles of your credit card details getting ripped by computer hackers...
There is a small fee, but I reckon it's worth if, as I don't take the risks...
Good luck...:thumb

I hate to admit it, but man, I think you're right....
Thanks WAbaja, certainly one to keep in mind!! Never knew about that one.
Cheers,
🙂
Me either, sounds good.
Is there a list of the Australian offices which can perform this service?
Ain't nothin' like the wind in your hair.
Sounds great.....
Do they charge as much as an INternational Money Order or western Union.....
Ebay says not to use Western Union as the money is transferred instantly and You may NOT get the goods....??
They like You to Use their Pay Pal syatem which I use besides ebay to pay for things in the US...
The costs are minimal.... plus now they have insurance....
and Aussie Dollars.... I suppose I'll use them until I have a nasty experience... Hopefully I won't.....
I would like to know more about this International Funds Transfer.....
