Now that I am sure I am going to keep my buggy, I'm thinking about joining a club. Obviously a buggy club makes the most sense but there isn't one in NSW (is there?). Seems a shame as NSW has the most people living in it.

So anyway, Brad raised the possibility of starting a chapter of the Manx Club down here a few years back with me.

Who would be interested?

And to Brad,
What would it involve?

Hi,
There will be a how to article on the Manx Club Site within the next month. In short you put your hand up and we will let you do it.

You basically become the "Area Co-ord" this means we expect you to organise events and send us stories for the club mag. In return we take care of your insurance and rego etc. If we get someone who is keen I am interested in becoming a registered NSW club so we can offer concessional rego to NSW members, if this is possible. If it isn't then there is no point doing it.

The club then collects membership and takes care of all the admin crap in relation to insurance, merchandise, magazine etc etc.

If you are keen let me know.

hey if there's one started im in for sure. would be great if we could get one happening over here in time for summer. We would turn a sh** load of heads in sydney. Most people that i talk to have never seen a beach buggy until they saw mine.
Before you judge someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you judge them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Is the Manx club CAMS afilliated?

Coz it would be nice. That way you could do club events in ya car and not have to join another club to for the club rego.

Pete, would it be any benefit to have out-of-towners in it? I mean, I doubt I'd have a chance of getting to Sydney for a long time, however being very new to these clubs there might be other things I haven't pondered.

Club rego wouldn't work for me as ACT don't recognise buggies as candidates for 'club' rego.....

If it was CAMS affiliated it would mean you could enter club motorsport events near you and have the Manx club as your designated club. Also, as a member of the club you get a newsletter. As for attending trips and things I spose that depends on how much time you have to get to them.

But the whole distance thing is why I'm not a member of the QLD Manx club at the mo. I'd really need to be part of a local chapter to get any value out of it, coz even stockton is bordering on too far for me with time constraints.
