I'm chasing a couple of old single circuit brake master cylinders in Brisbane.

If anyone has an old one laying around from when they've converted to dual circuit, or even just one laying around from when they've had to have theirs replaced as it was buggered thats fine.

They will get rebuilt before use so doesn't matter if you think its buggered.

Thanks

I have one.. dont know if it would be rebuildable or not.
How much does it cost to get them rebuilt?

The retail cost of getting them rebuilt far outways the cost of replacement.

BHSS in brisbane charge $105 according to their website for a rebuild.
http://www.bhss.com.au/hyd-brake-retail/BEEBRA0014.htm

You can buy new Master Cylinder for about $70 from VW shops. So this is what most people do.

I'm fortunate enough to have access to a rebuilder for allot less then the retail price so I was chasing a couple of Master Cylinders to get rebuilt for our project cars.

I've got one, I'm chasing one more.

BUMP... but while I'm here... do you know if this mob in Brissy can sleeve a twin circuit master cylinder down to give a stepped bore?

BHSS in Brisbane are Automotive engineers and do heaps of useful stuff. To Quote the owner: They are one of Brisbanes best kept secrets. Among heaps of other things they rebuild and Stainless sleeve all types of brake masters. I'm not sure if they will step them. I see no reason why not. You'd be best to call or email them.

By the way, I have no affiliation with them at all, I just know they do good work.

If you are looking for a master cylinder that is different front to back have a look at the Porsche 924S/944 master cylinder. Apparently it is 23mm front / 19mm rear. And it bolts straight up to a beetle pan.

There are some more details here:

Hope that's some help 🙂
