HI, looking for a cheapish or freeish cb for the old kombi before heading for Darwin from Melbourne. Can you help?

Nobody uses old 27 mhz CBs these days.
To communicate these days you need a UHF.
You can get one second hand fairly cheap or a new one for around $200.
I have both in my Land Cruiser and I never hear anyone on the 27mhz anymore.
Also a Telstra Mobile Phone works nearly all the way up the Sturt Hwy to Darwin.
