He "should" be able to do it to your existing ones.

I added a lock to my engine cover. Had one laying round but didnt have the key. The lock smith just mached it to my existing key.

Maybe he means so as you dont have to leave the kombi with him and he has to pull it to pieces??
Just by some 2nd hand ones??

I just got a central locking bit and immobalizer off ebay(around $60 for the lot), I now have keyless entry. If for some reason the battery dies in either the remote or the car then i have a key for one of the doors which luckily is the same as the key for the ignition. Central locking took less than a day to fit. Makes it so easy, no fiddling around with keys to get in :-)

You can't get the old style kombi door locks new. All you can get is new door handles with locks in them but the locks have a modern style key. You can also get new ignition locks that I think take the same type of key.

What I suggest you is get some old door locks and mix and match the wafers until it works with your ignition key. Not too hard but fiddly. You don't have to have all the wafers in the lock. When I got my kombi there was only a door lock on the passenger's side and I discovered it had so few wafers in the lock you could have opened it with anything!
