Opinion on 14 inch wheels vs 15 inch

Hey guys,

I'm seriously considering buying a set of aftermarket 14 x 5.5 inch wheels for my Karmann Ghia, but aircooled vw wheels are generally 15 x 5.5 inch if I'm not mistaken.

Is 14 inch as opposed to 15 inch OK? What would the disadvantages be in going 14 inch? Are tyres easily available (or available at all) for 14 inch rims?

I was going to view the wheels and likely buy without asking the question, however I thought it best to get some opinions. Any ideas????

tires are avalable for the 14s but you cant get the really good ones in that size i say go the 15s and put decent rubber on them as they are the same size as falcons and commodores so better selections. ive got a set of each and prefer my 15s with the turenzas on it, i cant break traction in the wet unless im trying to.
