My fuel gauge is starting to read erratically. When I fill the tank it reads full then after about 120km it will drop down to below ~1/4 full. Sometimes it will die completely for a couple of secs then come back lower than 1/4 full. My wife drove today and the fuel light came on so I filled it and it only took just over 1/2 a tank.
I have just started to use BP Ultimate. 3 tanks so far.
Any idea's?

this is a common prob in the t4 range..well 1 out of40 have this happen ...the dealer will tell you its the instrument panel and you cant buy any parts to repair, they cost over a grand....the prob is the circut board..the guys at muller&muller in sydney can repair it for less than 200 bucks.....dont be told its something else! next time it plays up use the palm of your hand and belt the top of the dash at the instrument cluster..either the needle will drop or resume normal readings..if this happens you know its the instrument panel..cheers dsk steve

Thanks Steve. I was at Mullers yesterday!!! I thump my dash now for the instruments lights at night. I'll give it a thump next time the gauge drops and another for good measure. I generally keep track of my mileage with the trip comp so I'll put up with it for now.
