What's out there? Is there any aftermarket bars for Type 3 front suspension? Hints, advice and offers of sale items appreciated...

Hi
Im pretty sure K Mac made a clip on one years ago. Also I think that the wagons used a slighty heavier internal bar.
Steve
A friend of mine has a brand new set of whiteline front and rear sway bars for type 3. They have been fitted and then removed from an unfinished project. I have sent you his number.
Nik
Thanks Steve - I wil check the 3 wagon internal bar. That makes sense - they had bigger rear torsions, too. Nik - thanks, too - I will call.

Hi
I think the front beam on the wagon also used a slightly heavier torsion bar as well, might be helpful.
Steve
I have a pair of whiteline adjustable sway bars for sale as well. $125 each

do the whiteline sway bars make lots of difference?
I got a t3 wagen and slowly gettin her up to pace,
I don't think that it handles too bad for how old it is and compared to some holdens i once had (never happen again, i swear!) but would be interested in upgrading the cornering abilities.
She's in at the doc's right now getting a brand new engine, exciting.
Just a stock 1600 tp atm, but later i might get it built up bigger, gotta get the body and paint all sorted first,
I am pretty keen on finding out more on the suspension side of things though,
The biggest improvement in handling comes from the drivers seat. Get something that straps not only your arse, but also locks your shoulders in first. You cant corner hard when your bum is trying to slide out onto the handbrake, or you are using the steering wheel to hold your torso up. Then get decent wheels/tyres. Then go the sway bars. Thats my worthless opinioin anyway.

Nah, not worthless... all good. GTMac's car already has bun huggin' Jap import seats and wil be getting its big vented Falcon four-wheel disc brakes and a suspension makeover in the coming month or so..:thumb

Never a wiser word spoken! Worth plenty M8!
As an advanced and defensive drivertraining instructor, I can never stress enough to participants the importance of correct driver position and good support.
Wise words indeed!

Im not a complete idiot, quite a few parts are missing....
Got some wicked pirelli's , my mate is bob jane foreman, so got em cheap, still cost more than wot i originally paid for the t3,
I have had a hj kingswood stocko for a first car and it cornered like a yacht, and later had a hz with big swaybars and could throw it into corners pretty wild, my mate named it WRK, i don't mind how the t3 handles, but still would like to make it a bit more smoother.
The seats are definitely on the cards, i have been keen to get to the local wreckers to find some nice comfy japs if i can,
i got her back today with the brand new shiny 1600 tp and it will be a few thousand k's until i get rough now, believe me, i love her, but i will get rough.
I might add, i really hate it how everyone sees a vw at the lights and thinks that some ol grandpa is gonna go slow in front of them so they try and take you. 😬😬
when i get the rest of the car, suspension, seats, paint, bla bla, then comes the power upgrade.:party
just practicing for my porsche. i'll still keep squarie though🙅
